What the Hell is KCU?KCU Ink Canada is a Tattoo and Graphic Design Company owned and operated by artist/tattooist Sean Simmans.
Sean Simmans has been selling his artwork since 1982, when he was just 12, and learned the tattoo craft in 2001. The KCU Tattoo Studio is located within the New Directions salon in the Melfort Mall, in Melfort, Saskatchewan. Since opening in 2005, KCU has branded over 1200 clients.
Simmans is also the creator of the American comic-strip RIZZO and the designer of over 100 book and magazine covers, plus a trainload of random debris. In 2007, he released the graphic novel, MAC FISH, and illustrated A.P. Fuchs' OF MAGIC AND MEN for Coscom Entertainment. (His next comic book project is tentatively titled ZOMBIE CHRONICLES.) He is also the Art Director for two monthly magazines, and, under a pseudonym, a novelist.
His original works are for sale exclusively at the Doghide Gallery in Tisdale, Saskatchewan.
This website showcases some of his covers and comix, as well as a few tattoo designs. There is some very light nudity, and one appearance by the F-word, but nothing that will turn you or your dog into a raving sex maniac.
Enjoy!
BREAST CANCER UPDATE: In the fall of 2006, KCU Tattoo staged a Pink Ribbon fundraiser to drum up cash for the Canadian Cancer Society and over $800 was raised in a single weekend. According to the CSS, KCU Tattoo was the first Canadian Tattoo Studio to officially host a Ribbon/Ink fundraiser.
As of October 2007, we're doing it again. Rather than containing the event to a mere three days, however, the Pink Ribbon Fundraiser will run all the way until Christmas. Choose one of nine $60 pink ribbon designs, or one of two $100 designs, and get branded! All proceeds raised go to the Canadian Cancer Society to be used for Breast Cancer research.
